Coffee's Saturday Football Thread (Week 2)
Obliging for Coffee this Saturday.

Forest will survive again with home points. Sheff Utd, if they don’t make signings, look doomed home or away.........

*Saturday

Fulham v Brentford (15:00)

Two teams that punch above their weight. Two tactically different managers, but both innovative and seem to get the best from mediocre squads. Star strikers have been key for them in recent season. One is serving a betting ban, the other is sulking a bit, having so far being denied a move to the Saudi cash cow. Brentford are dogged and will come away with something. A Nailed On sit on the fence DRAW.

Liverpool v Bournemouth (15:00)

I don’t think anyone is expecting a repeat 9-0 result from last season. Liverpool are finding out what it is like to be scrapping in the bargain basement for signings. Salah had a right old strop that would have raised the attention of the Saudis. Bournemouth are settling under a new manager. Liverpool, while leaky, should be able to get the goals to edge this one. HOME WIN

Wolves v Brighton (15:00)

Wolves surprised a few with their performance against Man Utd, but ultimately fell foul to the now all too familiar bottling officials at OT. Brighton have lost a couple of key defensive midfielders in McAllister & Caceido, but they still find scoring easier than Wolves. AWAY WIN

Spurs v Man Utd (17:30)

This could be a decent game. I scoffed when Celtic appointed the little known Aussie, but he pleasantly surprised, bringing in a high press more adventurist style of football than the dour Lennon. So, I am willing to say, Spurs have got themselves a decent manager. Their problem is still having a penny pinching chairman in Levi. 10hag must have been bitterly disappointed with the lack lustre performance against wolves. Of the new signings, Madison shown brighter than Mount Week 1. I don’t see Spurs losing. And when push comes to shove, I am getting off the fence. HOME WIN

Man City v Newcastle (20:00)

A bit of a late one. Both teams opened with wins. Newcastle sparkled a bit more (Villa were soft) but I think City will want to set down a marker and will grind out a win. HOME WIN ..after 20 minutes of added time for Newcastle time wasting.

*Sunday

Aston Villa v Everton (14:00)

A boring undercard for the main event. Mings is a big loss for the Villa defence. Dyche will have a similar struggle this season. Villa more likely to find the back of the net with the likes of Watkins. DCL is becoming a permanent sick note. HOME WIN.

West Ham Utd v Chelsea (16:30)

After a slow start against Liverpool, they settled and bossed things for the second half. They’ve added Caceido and Lavia since, we should be scared. But we have surprised them a few times of late. It’s Going to be a 1-1 DRAW Paqueta to score and get a yellow card for taking his shirt off. Can someone get me the odds.

*Monday

Crystal Palace v Arsenal (20:00)

It feels like a game I couldn’t give a shit about. Arsenal were good in attack last week but showed their vulnerability when they conceded and hung on a bit. Old man Roy, showed he still has some fight in him. Prediction, Hodgson to give Arteta a kick up the hole for running up and down the touchline. Game- DRAW

WWC Final:

It’s coming home. Well, more importantly, it’s coming to an end. I have avoided it apart from two hilarious penalty shoot outs. No issue with those that want to watch it, but hysterical comparison to the achievements of Bobby Moore & Co, are blasphemy.

Enjoy your weekend fellow Hammers.

I think Palace will surprise Arsenal.

Spurs will beat Manchester United.
Maybe Everton to beat Villa as well, Villa looked shocking defensively last week.

Mitoma’s goal for Brighton is something else.

They do know how to spot a player.

Good game at Wolves, Mintoma scored a goal that Messi would have been proud of, they really could tear us apart next week. Wolves also look decent, just poor finishing.

I think I ready on the Europa thread a few saying they thought Brighton would blow up that don’t look like happening anytime soon

We should forget about paying 46mill for a winger we should be paying 46mill for Brightons manager
